What is the shape of the riser? How do you classify it? What is it used for? Check it out!
The riser is a cavity set up in the mold to store the replenishing metal liquid. Its main function is to prevent the shrinkage and porosity defects of the casting, and also to adjust the temperature field of the casting, overflow the flow head cold metal liquid, remove gas and collect slag. The entity formed by the solidification of the metal liquid at the riser is also called the riser. Generally there are cylindrical, spherical top cylindrical, long (waist) cylindrical, square, spherical and flat spherical and so on.
According to its feeding principle and applicable alloy type, the riser can be divided into general riser and cast iron riser.
1. Universal riser
The universal riser is suitable for the feeding of all alloy castings, such as cast steel alloy, various non-ferrous alloy castings, in principle can also be used for cast iron with graphite precipitation, but the cast iron using a practical riser suitable for its own solidification characteristics is better. General riser can be divided into ordinary riser and special riser.
(1) Ordinary appetite. According to the position, it is divided into: top riser and side riser; According to whether the top is covered by molding sand, it is divided into open riser and dark riser.
(2) Special riser. According to the pressure mode, it can be divided into: atmospheric pressure riser, compressed air riser and gas riser; According to the heating method, it is divided into: thermal insulation riser, heating riser, oxygen riser, arc or gas heating riser; Easy to cut riser is also a special riser type.
2, cast iron riser
The risers of cast iron include practical risers and balanced solidification risers. Practical risers are divided into direct practical risers (as risers in the pouring system), controlled pressure risers and no-risers. Balanced solidification riser type is more practical for cast iron.
