Characteristics and construction process of low cement refractory castable, low cement refractory castable is a common amorphous refractory product in the refractory castable series.
Low cement castable refers to castable with low cement content. The cement content of refractory castable is generally 15% to 20%, and the cement content of low cement castable is about 5%, and some even reduce to 1% to 2%. The purpose of reducing the amount of cement is to improve the fire resistance of castable. Low cement refractory castables mainly include high alumina, mullite and corundum refractory castables, which have the characteristics of high strength, anti-erosion, wear resistance and excellent performance. At the same time, the material can be made into fast baking explosion-proof castable according to the user's baking time requirements.

The preparation principle of low cement refractory castable is reasonable selection of particle size, superfine powder and admixture variety and dosage. Refractory aggregate and powder are made from well-calcined viscose clinker and bauxite clinker. Refractory powder - Generally use secondary, primary or extra grade high bauxite clinker as raw material, after grinding should be treated with iron removal. The setting and hardening mechanism of low cement castable is the result of hydration and condensation.






Low cement castable refers to the calcium aluminate cement bonded refractory castable, Castable with CaO content less than 2.5%, that is, the addition of calcium aluminate cement is 1/2 to 1/2 of the ordinary calcium aluminate cement castable 1/3 of the castable, and the traditional refractory castable is different, low cement refractory castable matrix is used to replace part or most of the calcium aluminate cement with the main castable material chemical composition of the same or similar with the condensation bonding effect of ultra-fine powder, therefore, this kind of call belongs to the hydration and condensation bonding co-existence of castable. Due to the replacement of part of the calcium aluminate cement with ultrafine powder (micro-powder), the low cement castable has the following advantages:

1. The low CaO content in castable can reduce the generation of low eutectic phase in the material, thus improving the refractoriness, high temperature strength and slag erosion resistance

2. The water consumption of castable during construction is only 1/3~1/2 of that of ordinary castable, so the porosity is low and the volume density is high.

3, after the casting molding, the cement compound generated in the curing is less, and there is no large amount of hydration bond destruction during heating and baking, resulting in a decline in the middle temperature strength, but with the increase of the heat treatment temperature, the strength is gradually increased

4. The particle size composition of castable can be properly adjusted to prepare self-flowing castable, spray coating and pump pouring castable.
